AstriaVeilLink-3: A Dependable Middle Step

Not our top recommendation, but a solid fallback if AstriaVeilLink-5 or -4 misbehave, before you drop any further.

Where It Fits

Our recommended starting point is AstriaVeilLink-5 — it's the fastest mode and the one to try first on any network. AstriaVeilLink-3 isn't that starting point, but it's the right next step if -5 (or -4) ever misbehaves: a dependable, well-rounded balance of privacy and speed that works in almost any network, without any manual tuning.

Think of it as the midpoint of our five-mode ladder — worth trying before you go further down toward AstriaVeilLink-2 or AstriaVeilLink-1.

What Balance It Strikes

AstriaVeilLink-3 doesn't chase either extreme. It isn't as cautious as our deepest-privacy modes, and it isn't tuned purely for maximum throughput either — it sits in the middle, giving you strong, real protection at a speed that holds up for everyday use: browsing, messaging, video calls, most streaming.

It's built on the same protocol as every other AstriaVeilLink mode — our own, not a repackaged common one — so it carries the same basic resistance to being recognized and blocked that all five modes share.

When to Move On From It

AstriaVeilLink-3 is a good middle step, but it isn't the right endpoint for every situation:

  • AstriaVeilLink-5 and -4 both connect cleanly — then you don't need to be here at all; go back up to AstriaVeilLink-5, our recommended default, for the best speed.
  • Your network is actively hostile to encrypted traffic and AstriaVeilLink-3 itself is struggling — a workplace, institution, or region known for aggressively interfering with connections that don't look ordinary. Move down to AstriaVeilLink-2 or, as a last resort, AstriaVeilLink-1.

If you're not sure which of those describes you, stay on AstriaVeilLink-3 until you notice a specific problem, then adjust from there.

Switching Modes

In the app, go to Settings → Connection type and select AstriaVeilLink-3 directly. As always, try AstriaVeilLink-5 first — drop to this mode only if conditions call for it.
