Astria VPN Doctor is a free utility that runs entirely on your Mac. It is a separate app from the Astria VPN service and has its own, simpler data practices: we do not collect your personal data.
Everything runs locally
The app reads your Mac's network and system configuration using built-in macOS tools (such as networksetup, scutil, pfctl and launchctl) to diagnose problems. This information is processed on your device and is never sent to us.
What we do NOT collect
- No personal data, no accounts, no sign-in.
- No telemetry and no usage analytics.
- No browsing history and no traffic contents.
- Nothing is transmitted to Astria's servers.
The one optional network request
The Security tab includes an optional DNS/IP leak check that requests your public IP address from a third-party service (ifconfig.me) so you can compare it with what you expect. This only happens when you run that check. If you never open it, the app makes no network requests at all.
Reports stay on your Mac
When you save a report, it is written to your Documents folder on your Mac. You decide whether to share it. We never receive your reports.
Third parties
The app bundles no third-party analytics or advertising SDKs. The only outbound connection is the optional IP check described above.
